No photographer is as good as the simplest camera. ~Edward Steichen
It is the photographer, not the equipment, who bears the responsibility for the photograph. However, many photographers (myself included) are hopeless equipment junkies. One of the most common questions I hear is "what kind of camera do you use?"
For those who wish to know, I shoot using digital equipment. Not because digital is inherently better (or worse!) than film, but because I am a lifelong computer geek who is comfortable in the digital world. I like that shooting digital gives me complete control over the shooting, processing, and printing processes without having to go to an outside lab.
My current equipment is:
Canon EOS-10D camera body
Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L wide angle zoom lens
Canon EF 35-350mm f/3.5-5.6L telephoto zoom lens
Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS zoom lens
Gitzo Explorer G2227 carbon fiber tripod
Acratec Ultimate Ballhead
Epson Stylus Pro 9600 printer
Adobe Photoshop CS2
